Do you think the Channel New Asia broadcast has been unbaised in its reporting? Write a 100 word reflection. Remember to include your full name / class at the end of your journal.
I think the broadcast had been unbiased in its reporting. However, there are some times when they had been unbiased. All these depends on how the news is going to be like. Sometimes the broadcast may be fair but other time it may not be. This kind of thing, there are no roght or wrong answer. It is all up to the broadcast whether they want it to be that way or this way. If they really has been biased, then it is not fair to the person who is not biased. However, I think, in my personal opinion, that the boadcast has been unbiased.
I think that Channel New Asia has been unbiased in its reporting. They do not just say the suspect is the murderer or any bad things about him/her. If they are biased and do this, the viewers will start to believe that the suspect is the murderer and they will start to shout out their thoughts and give pressure to the judge and make him to sentence the suspect, who may be innocent, to death. This will make other people who did not believe the report start to say that Channel New Asia and the judge are biased. If this really happened, Channel New Asia's reputation will start to fall. I think that they do not want this to happen so they will be unbiased. Although CNA are unbiased, there are newspapers and other resources are biased, so we cannot believe what we see or hear easily or else those innocent people will be pitiful. Chia Chun Yee(25)
i think that channel news asia is unbiased as, being the important news reporting centre, they cannot afford to take any sides in case they get discovered and will not be trusted. they are not biased and is not allowed to take sides because if they do so, the viewers, when reading the article, will feel unfair and their own thoughts and opinins can create an impact to the viewers and other professionals who is included in the incident, for example, the judge who is giving the verdict to the crime. It will also give viewers the wrong impression of the incident, hence they are not allowed to do this. if this really happen, that channel news asia is taking sides and reporting news based on their opinions and thoughts, when discovered by the viewers, the consequences will be hard, it will lose its reputation and lose its viewers. i think, that a broadcast should be mainly based on facts and not personal opinions. Sylvia Gwee(17)
I think that Channel New Asia broadcast is not biased as they did not take any side at all. However, if they are and started not to be fair but giving their own thoughts and views on the news instead of just reporting the facts, it will affect the whole results of news, causing everyone to believed that the person was really guility through he/she was innocent. Thus, when the truth came out, people will then commented that Channel News Asia did not report the news properly and truthfully at all and started not to believed whatever they reported, causing them to lose their customers or get sue be the suspect's family, for slandering the suspect, causing in the end, the Channel News Asia had no choice but to make a public apology or worst come to worst, fold down.
I do think that Channel NewsAsia, a leader in newscasting in Asia, is unbiased in its reporting. However, as we say this, no one is perfect, so is Channel News Asia and other news broadcasters around the world. For a possible scenerio, the evidence taken by the newscasters are not really th true evidence, and the journalists tend to side on the person suspected using these false evidence, among other incidences we would never hear of it. On the journalist's part, it is their duty never to side or make biased remarks on either the victim or the murderer, whichever is the case. In reality, a normal person always has this tendency to side to a person or a party,so in this case, all the news you see are actually not perfect.
Yes I think the Channel New Asia broadcast has been unbaised in its reporting. However, as we say this, no one is perfect, so is Channel News Asia and other news broadcasters.Channel New Asia broadcast had occasionally taken sides and also reported news based on their opinions and thoughts.Sometimes the broadcast may be fair but other times it may not be.I think that a broadcast should be mainly based on facts and not personal opinions. If the news broadcasters are biased, the viewers will start to believe that a suspect is the theif and they will start to voice out their opinions and give pressure to the judge and make him to sentence the suspect, who may be innocent.
No I do not think Channel New Asia is biased. Of course, every reporter would have to be unbiased in their reporting and they would not even manage to get hired if they are biased towards anything DURING their reporting. However if there are biased comments during the reporting, it will probably be edited out before it is aired on television. So there might be some biased comments during the reporting but not aired on television there is always a slight chance that this will happen. So Channel New Asia may appear to be unbiased but occasionally there are biased comments that are edited out. So I think that Channel New Asia is not unbiased during reporting.
I think that the Channel News Asia is unbiased in its reporting.Because if the newsreporter biased in its reporting,he or she will not have the job as a newsrepoter. If the newsreporter is not giving out the facts, instead he or she is giving out his or her own views on the case,it will not be fair.Futhermore,if the newsreporter is baised in the reporting, peope will believe that the information is true and people will spread rumors about the person who might be innocent. That will noy be fair to the person .So,I think that the Channel News Asia is unbaised in its reporting. Chai Hui Yee(2)
I feel that Channel News Asia broadcast has been unbiased in its reporting. Although they are unbiased, I think they must be siding some people in their mind but they cannot say or show it out. If the broadcaster gives out their own feelings about the report they are doing, the audience will side with the one who the broadcaster is siding. This will cause the innocent one to be said to be guilty and was wrongly accused.
I think that the Channel News Asia has been unbiased in its reporting as they did not say anything about their own opinions or feelings about the incident. They are also reporting only the facts. But if they tell their opinions or feelings about the incident, the viewers might believe in what they say and start to side on whoever they believe. It might start gossips, rumors or even riots if things get worst. It will also be unfair to the victim if convicted. The viewers might also feel that the reports that the newscaster reports will be fake and not believe in Singapore's news anymore. teo huiyuh(18)
I think that Channel News Asia has been unbiased in its reporting as the news reporter did not say or show any comments about the situation. If the news reporter did do any of the above, the news station would probably have edited the news because it is not right to be biased. When being biased, some viewers may get offended of disagree with the news report. Therefore the viewers will not trust the news station anymore, and will not turn to them for information. Thus I think that Channel News Asia is unbiased as they should be smart enough to know that if they are biased, they would lose support from viewers.
I personally think the broadcast had been unbiased in its reporting. However, there are times when they had been biased. All these depends on how the news is going to be like. Sometimes the broadcast may be fair but other time it may not be. This kind of thing, there are no right or wrong answer. It is all up to the broadcast whether they want it to be that way or this way, but, most of the times it is unbiased. If it is biased, it would be very unfair to the other party which is innocent. The news reported are also true, so I tink that they are not being biased.
I think Channel News Asia is unbiased in its reporting. If they are biased, the news report will be unfair to some people, especially victims of the events, who they themselves are innocent. News reporting is reporting the events that are happening around us every now and then, hence the news reporter must be reporting the facts of the events. If he/she gives their personal feelings about the events, some people may not like it and it may start a fight or something. This may also lead to people not believing the news that they are reporting and Channel News Asia will also lose supports from viewers.
I think that Channel News Asia is unbiased in its reporting. If the news report is biased, the news report will be unfair to certain people like the victims or stabber of the events. It will harm the innocent. The news was more siding to the victims and unfair to the student who stabbed the professor. If this carry on, viewers might think that news cannot be trusted anymore and will not believe in anything on the news.
I think that Channel News Asia has been unbiased in its reporting as it did not take sides or only believes and reports one sides' point of view. The news reporters does not give their own opinions or comments. They also do not mix personal feelings when reporting the news. I think if they are biased, as time goes on, people will not trust them and their reputation will be turnished.
I think that Channel News Asia has been biased in its reporting. The way the news came out, it was made to sound like it was the student;s fault that all this happened. However, no one stopped to think if it was due to stress on the student, or how the professor treated his students. If such biased reports are made, people may stop putting trust in anything reported in the news. The news reporters' reputations will be tarnished and they may even lose their jobs as a result of this.
I think that Channel News Asia has not been biased in its reporting. If they had, Channel News Asia would not have lasted for a decade. Well, everyone makes mistakes right? It's the same with the reporters of Channel News Asia. They do make mistakes sometimes but everyone have their own point of view so we can't blame them if they wronged someone. For example , the Channel News Asia said that the student was addicted to comeputer games and thus, he stabbed his professal. Well, that sounds like the stundent's fault but it might be the truth.I think that if its the truth ,then the reporters have done their job and we should not blame them.
I think that Channel News Asia had not been baised in its reporting. If the reporters had been baised at the first place, they cannot even been accepted into the job. Yes, I admitted that no one is perfect, everybody makes a mistake. But it is already a decade since the Channel News Asia was first started. If they were baised, their reputation would be spolit at the first place of time and it would not being continued for such a long time. I have been watching the Channel News Asia, it has no problems.
I think that CNA has not been biased in its reporting. There might be some minor cases, but we'll not really have the definite answer if CNA was biased in a few situations. I don't think that CNA was biased though,as Singapore has a tight security on things like this. As Singapore is a small country, things like the media that is so-called government related is especially tight. As many of my classmates said,i do agree with the fact that everyone is not perfect.Even robots are not perfect.Nothing is perfect. I conclude that i feel that there might be some minor cases of biased reporting, but i think that its all in the viewer's point of view.
I think Channel News Asia is unbiased in its reporting. If they are biased, the news report would be quite unfair to some people. The news reporter is only reporting the facts or whatever that has happened. If she gives her personal feelings or opinions about the events, some people may not like it and become angry. This may lead to the loss of trust in the news that they are reporting and Channel News Asia will also lose support from viewers. Nurul Ain (14)
I think Channel News Asia is unbiased in its reporting. There might be some which we do not know about. The newscasters do not say out their own opinions. When they get the news report, they would also check to see if the source is reliable first before they cast the news.
I think that the Channel New Asia broadcast is unbiased as they do not side by any of the people in the news and they do not give their personal opinions about the news. For example, the broadcast of the NTU student stabbing incident, the broadcast was not biased and the newscaster was fair and did not say anything that is not true about the people involved. If they are biased and people find out that they are not giving out the facts, the will lose the people’s trusts.
I think Channel News Asia has been unbiased in their reporting. If there were biased in their reporting, they would not be hired as a news reporter in the first place. However, no matter how much of experience as news reporter, people tend to make mistakes. Even if they had biased comments, it would be corrected before going on air. If they were not corrected, people who watch it will have a great impact and may not consider the points as they take the news as its own. If the reporters are biased, the viewers will not trust whatever they report and may turn to other news sources.
I think the Channel New Asia broadcast is unbiased. They do not say their personal opinions out on television. They only stated the facts and they did not say that which side is better or who side is not that good. The broadcaster in Channel New Asia will not use 'I think...' If they had been biased, Channel New Asia will not last for 10 years, so maybe its reputation will be destroyed if they are biased.
I think that Channel News Asia is biased in its reporting. They include their own opinion after reporting the news. And their opinions are only one side of the view which others might not agree with it. This will cause some dispute as viewers might argue with the accuracy of the broadcaster's opinions.Sooner or later, they might just lose their viewers. They should have really understand the whole incident before they give their own opinions or in fact, the facts about the incident. As they give their opinions after reporting, I conclude that Channel News Asia is biased in its reporting.
I think that the Channel News Asia had been unbiase in its reportings the past few years as if they had been biase, the rating of CNA wouldn't be that high. If the reporter is biase, people would give negative feedback about them. And on top of that, reporters themselves clearly know that reporting biasely will cause them to lose their job and not gaining any popularity among viewers.
I think the Channel New Asia broadcast was unbiased. The reporter interviewed the right people, for example, a psychologist and a friend of David Hartanto. After the interview, the reporter gave his own opinion about the incident. The professor gave the most possible reason why David Hartanto committed suicide, making listeners believe and understand why David Hartanto committed suicide. David Hartanto's friend gave his observations of him in class. Thus, I can conclude that the broadcast is unbiased.
I think the Channel News Asia broadcast was unbiased. The reporter did not include his or her own feelings in the report. Even at one point when they said that it was because the professor gave the students too much stress resulting in the stabbing incident which sounded like an opinion,it may just be the truth. If it really was the truth, the reporters would have done their job and given the citizens the correct information.
I think that the newscaster was biased only at certain point of the broadcast which led many people to have a biased view about David. In the broadcast, they addressed him as an Indonesian Chinese student which made people feel that he is an outsider and were to be blamed for everything as racism is rampant in Singapore. The professor was also referred to as a Singaporean which incites Singaporeans to band together to help the “wronged”. However, they were not biased as they had used words that left ambiguity in the statements given as they did not use words that say that David did attack the professor. I do think that the Channel News Asia(CNA) is unbiased at reporting but at the other hand, they may not be as they would mostly never reveal the murderer's or suspect's name and personal identfication or say things which are yet to be clarified and confirmed by the judges. As for being bias in reporting, they had gave some wrong infomations which caused misunderstanding. Therefore, we cannt trust all the informations that we see and hear as that may cause people to get accused or hurt physically or emotionally.
Yes, I do think that Channel Newsasia is unbiased in reporting its news. They cannot be biased as this is a matter of fact, and they only can say the facts. They cannot create any false information just to be biased. On top of that, they need time and energy to come up with false informations, just to be biased. And if they are biased in reporting the news, the public might lose trust in them and they would be the one losing out. Nevertheless, the will not be so foolish to be biased, as they would be the one losing out in the end.
I think that Channel News Asia is unbiased in its reporting. they donot express their own opinion in any news cast. they give true and correct information at many times. they will not come up with false information just to be biased. they did not reveal the name is any murderer or suspects. they did not side any people in the news. If they are biased, the news report would be quite unfair to some people. -claudia choo (04)-

ReplyDeleteYes, I do think that Channel Newsasia is unbiased in reporting its news.
