  1. 1)It insulted the other company by putting the company at the bottom and their own company at the top, which signifies that Pepsi is better. They also make the boy to step on the Coke can to press the Pepsi button and it also signifies that Coke is lousy and everyone step on them.
2)If the commercials have sensitive content like violence, sexuality, insult of religion and culture, disgusting scene or more, it might the commercials to be banned.

  2. 1) The commercial had insulted another company’s product, Coca-Cola in many ways. Firstly, the buttons were placed in such a way that Pepsi is on the very top and Coca-Cola is at the very bottom. This shows that Pepsi thinks that their product is way better than Coca-Cola. Secondly, after the little boy had purchased two Coca-Cola can drinks, he stepped on them so that he could reach the button to purchase Pepsi. This shows that Pepsi thinks that Coca-Cola is under their feet and they are looking down on Coca-Cola.

    2) I feel that if a commercial contained violent scenes, sexual scene, discomfort to our eyes, insulation to others’ religion or culture and teaching little ones things that they should not do, the commercial should be banned.

  4. 1) It was banned because it had insulted the Coca-Cola Company by placing the Coca-Cola button at the bottom of the vending machine while the Pepsi button was placed at the top. By doing this, it had gave the audience the signal that Coca-Cola was not as good as Pepsi. But, other than doing that, they also get the boy to stand on the Coca-Cola to reach the Pepsi button. It shows that the Pepsi company did not care about the how the Coca-Cola company would feel.

    2) I feel that commercials that contain violence, sexual scene, insults about one's country and culture, insults about the other companies and causes discomfort to others.

  5. 1) The commercial insults the Coca-Cola company by putting the Coca-Cola as the last brand of soft drinks on the vending machine, and the young boy used the coke cans as steps for the boy to reach for the pepsi brand which is 'ranked first' on the vending machine. This would mean that pepsi is better than Coke and Coke is easily looked down by other people.

    2) I think that if the commercial contains explicit material, for example, violence, sexual scenes, insulting of other countries' culture or things that toddlers would pick up through prolonged exposure to the commercial, the commercial should be banned.

  7. 1) The commercial had insulted the coke in a way that the product of the coke company was used as steps to reach the pepsi which is much higher than coke. It gives the people the impression that coke is not as good as pepsi and is allowed to be abandoned like what the child did after getting the pepsi.

    2) A commercial should be ban if it contains violence, horror, gore, sexual contents, culture and bad behavior adopted by actor in the commercial, for example, the person using vulgarity that will teach toung children wrong things

  8. It is banned as it insulted the coca cola company by putting the button at the last while pepsi button at the top.The commercial also insult the coca cola company by making the boy to stand on the coca cola cans as if looking down on the coca cola company.

I think a commercial would be banned if it contains sensitive contents like violence, insults ,sexuality and contents that would have bad influence on kids,or even those that are misinterpret the product. This would all make people feel uncomfortable and would have bad influence on toddlers when they grew up watching all this commercials and they will do all the wrong things.

  9. I honestly felt that the Pepsi advertisement is very offending. By placing the button to buy coke at the lowest, also suggests that it is one of the worst drink all also shows that Pepsi is one of the best. This have seriously hurt and offended the Coca Cola company.

Some other reasons that commercials may be banned is if it includes sexuality, violence, use of vulgar, obscene or insulting a culture or certain beliefs. Though the commercial would be much more interesting and more meaningful, we have to respect others and to make sure that people of a certain age should not see this. This could cause many crimes or is a bad influence to the younger people, our future would be in havoc if there would be more of such advertisement which is not reported.

  10. 1)The comercial is banned as the pepsi copany had greatly insulted the coke company in it. It mortified the coke company by placing the coke choice button right at the bottom on the machine but the pepsi choice button highly at the foremost top of the bending machine, showing that the pepsi is hghly above, better than the coke. Whats more, also made the boy stepped on the coke can in order to reach the pepsi button, saying that coke is under their feet, looking down on them. The boy also left the coke on the ground after having bought the pepsi, meaning that he rather waste his money on two cans of coke for a can of pepsi.
2)A commercial ought to be banned if it contains sensitive contents like violence, sexual contents, or things that will influence or give the child a bad indoctrination. Children tend to do the things showcast on the tv because they watch it all the time hence it is important that we be careful what the children watch.

  11. 1)The commerical is banned because it is insulting the coke company. The boy steps on two coke cans ,just to reach for a pepsi can. This shows that two coke drinks are not better than the pepsi drink. One more thing, the pepsi company put the pepsi choice button right at the top of the machine and the others brand below it.This means that the pepsi company looks down on the others' brand.

2)A commerical needs to be banned if it contains violence ,sexual contents ,vulgarities,or is insulting others.I understand that the commerical needs to be funny and intersting so as to attract people ' attention.Children tends to learn things fast .A commerical that is not good should be banned as we do not want small children to learn the wrong thing and end up being a bad person in the future.

They also make viewers think that Pepsi is much better than coca-cola.

2)I think that commercials will be banned if they contain violence, sexual scenes, insults about one's country, culture, religion, insults to other companies or if they cause discomfort to others.

  14. 1) The commercial is banned because it is insulting the coca-cola company by putting coca-cola button right at the bottom of all the drinks and putting Pepsi button right on top. This means that Pepsi is far better than coca-cola while coca-cola can only always be behind Pepsi.
It also shows the little boy step on two coca-cola cans just to reach for the Pepsi button. This is equal to saying that coca-cola is under their feet. By doing so, the Pepsi Company is obviously looking down on the coca-cola company.
Finally, the boy left the coke on the ground after having bought the Pepsi, meaning that he rather waste his money on two cans of coke for a can of Pepsi. Also, it will give people the impression that coca-cola is not as good as Pepsi and can be abandoned like what the child did after getting the can of Pepsi.
    2) I think a commercial will be ban if it contains sexuality, violence, insulting of other people countries, cultures and beliefs, vulgarity, disgusting bloody scene and many more. These will give the children a bad influence, causing them to do the wrong things instead of the right things in the future when they were all grown up.

  15. 1)The Pepsi Commercial is banned because it was offensive to the Coca-Cola Company. It made the Coca-Cola brand at the bottom of the vending machine while the Pepsi brand was at the top of the vending machine. It meant that they are aying that Pepsi is a lot better than Coca-Cola brand. Then, later he bought 2 cans of Coca-Cola for him this step on. This means that Coca-Cola is treated like a rubbish, because normally good things will not be step on. Lastly, the boy step on the cans of Coca-Cola and bought the Pepsi. He then left the 2 cans of Coca-Cola on the floor. It also means that Coca-Cola is treated like dust. It is very rude to the Coca-Cola Company.
2)I think a commercial will be ban if it is against the gender or race. It will also be ban if there are violence included, as children may learn, ad it may cause trouble It also will be ban if it is consist of obscene stuffs as it may lead others astray.

  16. 1) The commerical advertising the Pepsi commercial was banned becoause it was insulting to the makers of Coke, F&N. All the actions of what he did to the Coke cans and that the way the buttons are arranged suggest that Pepsi is more "superior" than Coke. This is not legal because doing this is like "fabricating" evidence to suggest that coke is bad/not refreshing/poisonous/etc.
    2) In other commercials, I think that those ommericals with suggestive sexual acts, an insult to a country, race, religion or culture or contains excessive violence. Children wathing these commercials, which are shown many times every day, are made to "assume" that those acts are okay and this may lead them to the wrong thinking of what the commercial was intended to be.

Secondly, the boy was made to step on the two can of Coke which means insulting Coke to mean that Coke is lousy and we should look down on it.

2)Commercials which include sexual scene, violence scene, insulting of other religion or culture and insulting of other products may be the reasons why it is banned.

  19. 1)It was banned because it insulted Coke. On the vending machine, the Pepsi button was at the top yet the Coke button was at the bottom. This showed that Coke was being looked down on. The boy, who was at the vending machine, first bought one can of Coke and put it on the floor, next he bought another can of Coke and put it on the floor together with the other Coke. Then, as the boy was not tall enough to reach the Pepsi button on top, he stepped on both cans of Coke to reach it. After getting his can of Pepsi, he walked away with the two cans of Coke left behind on the floor. It showed that they thought Coke was lousy and looked down on them and suggested to the audience that Pepsi was better than Coke. It also showed that people could bear to spend more money to spend on Pepsi and could waste their money on Coke.
2)Commercials that are violent, have sexual scenes insulting other brand products, insulting culture, religion or races might be banned.

  22. i think that this pepsi commercial is banned because this commercial insults another drink company, coke.the boy bought the coke but did not take it away but leave the coke there after stepping on it to reach another button,"pepsi".this shows that the boy only have the intention of buying and drinking pepsi and not coke.this also mean that coke is inferior to pepsi which is an insult to coke, and so it is banned.tis commercial may be banned because,in the commercial, the vending machine, pepsi s right at the top while coke is at the bottom.this shows that pepsi is superior to coke.
commercials that are violent have sexual scene ,cenes that insult other company, tradition, religion, country, etc are usually banned.they are banned because commercials are supposed to promote the product and not insult others.comercials are played again, again and again.if a kid watch a violent comercial, it may be imprinted in his mind and what will become of him when he grows up?he will mos likely be violent.

  23. 1. I think the commercial was banned because Pepsi used several 'symbolic' meanings in its commercial to say that, "coke is more worse than pepsi."
    - The boy in the commercial bought two cans of coke so that he could get the pepsi, and stepping is considered disrespect.
    - The button for coke was placed at the bottom, which means that "coke is of a low status."
    - The pepsi button was placed high up, which meant that pepsi is much higher/better than you.

    2. Elements like violence, mature themes, recism, other forms of insults, and sexuality are banned.

  24. The commercial was banned as the coca cola company was insulted. The pepsi company had placed the button for coke at the bottom while the pepsi button is at the top and made the boy step on two bottes of coke in order to reach for the pepsi drink. It shows that the pepsi company despise the coca cola company and gives viewers the impresion that the pepsi company is better.

Commercials containing violence, insults, things against religions, race and any countries' traditions and sexuality stuffs are banned.

  25. 1.The commercial was banned because it was trying to tell those who are watching it that Coca-Cola is lousier then Pepsi.
The advertisement showed that Coca-Cola is at the bottom of the vending machine and the boy even stood on the Coca-Cola to get Pepsi. It is merely saying that Coca-Cola is lousiest(lower)and Pepsi is best(highest).
2.Commercials insulting on a religion, race, countries tradition or contains violence, sexuality and stuff that gives people negative impressions or thoghts.

  27. 1) It was banned because it insulted Coke. The message behind the video told others that Coke was lousier and inferior to Pepsi, as the boy stepped on the two cans of Coke just to buy a can of Pepsi. They also deliberately put the Coke button at the last while the Pepsi button at the top. By making the boy stand on the Coke cans, it is also as if he looking down on the Coke company. In the end, the boy also left the two cans of Coke behind, and only took the Pepsi with him. By treating the Coke cans like a something to stand on, shows that he treated Coke like dirt. Thus, it is like very offensive and insulting to the Coke company. The commercial really deserved to be banned.

2)I think a commercial will be ban if it is against gender, religion, countries' tradition or race. It will also be ban if there are violence included, as children may learn and become violent. It also will be ban if it is consist of obscene stuffs, sexuality and stuff that gives people negative thoughts or impressions, as it may lead others astray.

  28. 1. It is banned because in the advertisment, the child stood on two cans of cola just to get the can of pepsi. On this kind of scenario, it tells us that the company of cola is looked down by pepsi, and not even two cans of cola is hold a match for pepsi.

    2. The other possibilities are violence, vulgarities, relations to sexuality, insults of culture or country, insult of other brands of products and things that make people misunderstand.

  29. -The commercial clearly is meaning to mock Coca-Cola. The boy buys the two cans of Coca-Cola not to drink but to step on them so he can reach the Pepsi button on the vending machine. The way it mocks Coca-Cola is because Coca-Cola is placed all the way at the bottom of the list and Pepsi is all the way at the top.The boy steps on the cans and leaves them there after he bought the two cans of Pepsi. That means that the cans of Coca-Cola were practically useless other than used for stepping. It also means that Coca-Cola is not meant for drinking but meant for being tools. This whole commercial depicts the fact that Pepsi is much better than Coca-Cola.

-Other possible reasons for commercials to be banned are violence, coarse language, sexuality, insulting of anything that cause the people watching it to think that the other product is lousier than the product.

  30. 1. I think that it is banned because that it is trying to look down on the coca-cola company. In the advertisement, it showed that the boy had brought two coca-cola cans and had stepped on them in order to get the pepsi drink can. This would mean that coca-cola is lousier than the pepsi. I understand that they are trying to advertise their pepsi drink. But it is a very wrong thing to do since it would cause the two company to unhappy.

    2. The other factors that would cause advertisements to be banned is that they consist of vulgarities, sexuality, insulting words or phrases or violence. They would cause viewers to also get influenced by the scenes in the advertisement.

  32. 1. i think that the reason that this commercial was banned was because of the fact that they used other companies product without asking them for their permission. If the company that manafactures pepsi uses other brands as a comparison to show that their product is better, they are breaching some laws as the other brands may have been patented or protected by copyright laws.
2.Factors that will contribute to the banning of a commercial are explict content such as extreme violence, gore, nudity, pornography, racist remarks, sexist remarks and remarks that are considered propaganda or agaisnt a religon.

  33. 1. I think that this commercial was banned as it evidently insulted the brand Coke. It is as good as saying that Coke is the worst as firstly, it was listed at the bottom of the vending machine. And secondly, because the boy stepped on the cans of Coke to get the Pepsi. The commercial clearly states that Pepsi is better than Coke and is actually demeaning Coke. The message it provided was that Coke is lousy and useless and it should have been banned for depicting another brand like that.

    2. I think commercials that are banned would contain vulgarities, explicit sexual content, racist remarks or gestures, violence consisting of blood and gore and insults of rival brands.

  34. After watching the banned commercial, I think that the reason why it is banned is because that the boy used coke cans to be able to reach out and buy the Pepsi. This is saying that Pepsi is looking down on coke and it is discriminating coke. There might be some other reasons that it is banned and it might be that the commercial is maybe too insulting for coke and also maybe some people that likes coke.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 1. The ad was banned because it has insulted the coca-cola company. Ads are supposed to promote their own product, but also they must not insult other peoples' product.

2.Commercials that are violent, have sexual scenes, insulting other brand products, insulting cultures might be banned.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 1. I think the Pepsi commercial was banned because it was "putting down" Coca Cola's reputation and saying that their drink is more than two times better than Coca Cola. As in the Pepsi commercial, two cans of Coca Cola was used for support so that the little boy could reach out to press the button at the most top stating 'Pepsi'. This shows that Pepsi is trying to say that it is way better than any other drink. It is especially unfair to Coca Cola as two of its cans are used for the little boy to step on. Isn't this like disrepsecting Coca Cola Company?
    2. Other commercials may have been banned because they contain violent, religious, sexual content. I think the main reason is that they do not want the commercial to show favoritism. Commercials should be advertising their products in a positive way, but not to an extent that it makes another similar product look as if its demoralizing somebody to make feel as if you are better than him, or her. I think that can be quite self-centered.
