Through this video production, I have learnt more about handling camera equipments and also, how to create an efficient video to attract people to view our video. We have encountered some problems such as no coordination which resulted in filming a scene over and over again, and we finally resolved the difficulty when we tried to talk it out to see how we could improve on our coordination skills. Other than that, we also encountered times when our timings cannot fit in with the rest of the group. This resulted in a lot of scenes not filmed but we managed to set aside a time and put it as a priority so that we can finish filming in time.

I have learnt to handle the equipments needed to do filming like, where to put the battery of the videocam, how to set up the tripod stand, etc. I also learnt to edit videos, put music into our videos, make really nice effects to my video using ulead.Some of the difficulties that we faced is when we had to retake the same scene over and over again because of some mistakes we made but we tried our best and finally filmed a good scene. We also had to allcate a time to do filming but sometimes we do not really have the time to film but we still finally managed to finish filming.

I think the most difficult thing about filming a video is when the actors are laughing and is a waste of time, space in the camera and also waste of energy. Especially, when we are planning to complete at least 2 scenes before we go home, it would not be completed easily. It would waste our time and also the life span of the camera. We can try to avoid this by preparing any information or also rehearsing before the actual day of filming. this helps with time management and also we would not need to book the camera for another day.

I have learnt to plan my time and script properly because one scenes may have lots of NGs and it may drag the time so i have learnt to plan my time.As for the script,if we memorise it and have it written out,the actors would not have to think on the spot and waste time.I also learnt how to edit videos better and how to add effects so that the viewes would not feel too bored watching the video.
ReplyDeleteThe most difficult thing in fliming the video is that I cant stop laughing then all my group members have to take the scene all over again.Another thing is that whenever the group plan a time,one or two person would fail to turn up.This is very frustrating as it seems that I was the one who always turn up.I think that it is a waste of my time.Because I would want to finish fliming the whole story in a day but everytime when a person didn't come,this would not be achieved.The last problem is that the guys would always be distracted.Once we went to a group member house then he went online to play MapleSea so it was really distracting.

I learnt how to use a video camera, how to add in the sounds and effects to the video that we had taken. I had also learnt more about the use of media literacy. One of the problems we faced is that we are all very busy and it is hard to find time to film our video. Fortunaately, we eventually found time to do the filming. Sometimes people will push their work to someone else, but we try to seperate the workload as fairly as possible.

I have learn how to handle camera equipments, film a video, add in effects and edit the video through the PBL. We faced some problems like we had to retake the same scene for a lot of time as we could not coordinate well but we solved the problem after few tries. We also do not have time as we are busy but as there is holiday before the new term starts so we film during that time. The editing of the video is difficult as it is difficult to find the correct time to cut the video but we managed it.

I had leant a lot of skills to make videos, such as how to make the speed of a certain scene go slower or faster, and how to insert text in the video. Also, I had learnt how to handle the camera equipments. The problem we faced during the filming of the video is that we had difficulty finding a suitable location to film the scene. Also, the actors would make errors often and we always had to retake. When editing the video, we also had problems with finding a suitable song for the video. And the video look kind of weird even after we edited.

From this PBL, I have learnt how to operate a video camera and also how to edit a video using Ulead. I also learnt that we have to think of other people feelings as we cannot force them to film the video when they cannot spare the time to do so. One of the difficulties that we faced was that we had not enough time to film the video as each of us has their CCAs to attend to or tuition. Even when some of us are free, the others may not be free and so we cannot film. Another difficulty is that we could not decide which house should we go to. However, we managed to solve the problem by filming by ourselves.

ReplyDeleteI learnt how to make a film , edit a video and handle the camera equipments. I also learnt how to setup a camera. Sometimes we met problems like the actors forgetting their lines, and forgetting what they had to do. When that happens, we had to retake the same part of the video many times, just to get it right. We also did not have much time since its closing in to the exams time, and there is also ASAP. We managed to finish the video in time anyway. This project was difficult, but we did all we can to finish it.

i have learnt how to how to use equipments that is necessary for filming.i have also learnt new stuff such as editing.we have encountered lots of difficulties during the filming such as time management and so on.as the exams are approaching, we have different schedules.some of our schedules crash together and we found it difficult to take time out of our schedules to do this project.but we still manage to do so.there are also so many NGs, we need to shoot the scene again and again.it takes time to do so and we ended the filming later than expected.we also have some troubles with filming.we actually wanted to film 1 scene at a playground, but there are children running around, shouting and screaming that we have to change our location.as it is the first time some of our teammates act in front of the camera, so their performance is not up to standard causing retakes.we did not plan properly, so we do not know what to do next.these are only examples.i think that time management is our main trouble.our schedule is not flexible, so we have little time to complete everything, the filming, editing...

ReplyDeletethough i am from media works,learning to use ulead was hard but i soon got the hang of it.using the camera was nothing but uploading the video was new to me, but i got the hang of it soon. trying out to make i video was fun but there were many factors that makes a video like the speed and others.

ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to film, even it is just a short advertisement. It takes a long time to edit a video and is even more difficult not to laugh while being filmed. Furthermore, there is a big problem to decide when to film, because everyone is very busy. It also takes a lot of effort to convince a person to act in a scene that makes him or her look and feel stupid.

Through this video production, I have learnt many things, for example, editing the sounds of the videos and adding some animation to the video. I also learnt that teamwork is very important as if our team did not have teamwork, we would not be able to produce the video successfully. We sometimes were not able to co-operate with each other at certain parts of the video production. One of our members was supposed to fall onto the ground, but she cannot just fall onto the ground without any support on the ground. We thought of a plan to cushion the fall during the video using a mattress put on the ground of the falling area.
ReplyDeleteThrough this video production, i have learnt the basics of the video camera, like how to use it. Ulead was also a tough application to use, but I soon got the hang of it. Editing a video was hard, especially if you want it to fit a specific theme. Overall, it was fun and I wish we could have again it in Sec 2.

ReplyDeleteThe most challenging and difficult problem we met is time management. Although Mr Lam said that god had given us the most is time, yet we couldn’t find time to do the video. Most of the time, we could not meet up due to some activities we have and the cca we have to attend, especially Bennett, his scout cca. We couldn't meet up as he is the main lead at first. Without him, we couldn't do any thing much. Then we realised the problem - the main lead is too busy, so we got Eloise to be the main lead. The next problem is that Bennett is very irresponsible. When he was the main lead, he doesn't want to go to our houses to film the most important part of the video(sorry cannot be said as it is going to be a suspense),yet he don't let us to go to his house, so he suggested that he will film himself at home alone. We trusted him too much. In fact, he came back to school empty-handed. We could not do anything again. We gave him another chance, but he did not treasure it. this is another reason why we get our main lead changed.

The problems we faced were many but the most challenging problem that we faced was time management. We only started working on this project when we were-still are- nearing the exams and we could not find enough time to do our project as all of us had different things to do at different times that clashed with times that we planned to do our filming. Everytime we arranged to meet up and film, Bennett stood us up last minute and sometimes, when we arranged to meet up, we could not find each other. Another major problem that we faced in the process of this project was the lack of cooperation by Bennett. We have these scenes where we have to do the filming in a house. However, no one would let the rest go over to their houses. In the end, when i did, Bennett did not want to come and insisted on doing filming by himself. So, when we let him do it, he did not and let us all down. When we gave him one more day to do his filming, he disappointed us once more by coming back to us empty-handed. Furthermore, when it was his fault that he did not do the filming he gave a lot of excuses and got very angry with us for blaming him. So in the end, eventhough he was supposed to be the lead of the show, we had to change it last minute as we found out that we really could not trust him to do anything.

I had learnt lots of things during this module.
ReplyDeleteI learnt how to combine videos together using Ulead, to form a whole final piece of movie. We learnt the different equipment of cameras and had the chance to handle with the cameras and tripod stand. We learnt to add effects + music and etc. to our movie. During the period of making the movie, we faced many problems. Actually, we plan to take the movie early, but first week Brian was sick, then follow by me who had stomach flu and Guoyi who had food poisoning. Although it was such coincidence that we had some illness, we had used the time after school to do the video. Sometimes, our programmes clashed with the schedule for recording the movie, we had no choice but to have it after their cca. We also faced some problems making our movie. We had a lot of NGs and most of the NGs are because we are laughing. I tried to not laugh and trying to turn my head away from the camera when I was about to laugh. I learnt that teamwork is very important as we need to cooperate closely with one another to get things done.

Through this video production, I have learnt that planning is important in almost anything. It is essential for a piece of work to be completed successfully. In a video production, we have to get the script, storyboarding done after deciding the plot and setting up of the camera, the preparation work must be done before the actual thing. The after work is also important as we have to edit the video and make it presentable to the viewers. We also have to advertise it in order to attract people to watch it. We encountered some difficulties because we couldn’t find a time in which everyone would be free hence we had to postpone the filming. But so every member of the group tried to make time for the video and in the end we got it done. I think group member’s coordination and the amount of effort put it are very important as they decides the quality of the end product.

I have learn about the different angle shots that could be shot in a video, planning the filming time properly so that all group members could attend the filming. I also learn not to do it at the last moments as there are a lot of NGs and the computer would always go on “strike” and refused to work with us. I also learn how to edit videos while adding in effects so that the viewers will be attracted by y video.

We also had difficulty deciding on the angles the video will be shooting on and the light effect of our location.

I realised that one of the problems are that the actors are laughing a whole lot and wasting a lot of time. Many groups are also located at one popular location so the groups at the same location would have to take turns filming if not there would be extra sounds in the background.

Time is also a large problem as many of us have busy schedules and so we do not have much time to film.

I learnt that team work is very important as without teamwork, we will not produce good results and may quarrel between each other like eloise group.Without teamwork, we may also end up with doing nothing and may lose trust in each other. besides teamwork, i also learnt the different kinds of shot that i can use when filming a show.like what meifang said, we were very distracted. I was the one who was the most distracted as i was playing computer games while filming the video.

I have learnt in this video production that teamwork is very important in this as without it, we would find it impossible to even shoot the video. For once, Goh Poh Fong was at first not cooperative in the shoot, but after he decide to put in his effort. The video went seamlessly in our shoot. Time management is also of utmost importance as we found that we were behind schedule in our editing. We also learnt about the various techniques of shooting videos and thus helped us in our video production.

I have learnt to plan my time and script properly because I learnt that one scene may have lots of NGs and I have learnt a lot of skills to edit videos too, such as how to make the speed of a certain scene go slower or faster, and how to insert text in the video. I have also learnt how to handle the camera and insert transitions and put special effects in it. I have also realised the importance of having a script and storyboard. Without them, it will be very difficult for the actors and actresses to act out the correct scene. They may get confuse and stumble upon their speech.
ReplyDeleteSome of the difficulties faced was that it was difficult for us not to laugh and hard to memorise the script. During fliming, we often laugh and sometimes, we would say out our speech wrongly and we would also stumble.
Also, it was hard not to laugh. But, if we laughed or giggled, we had to take the whole scene again. It was very tiring and we were wasting time. We also had a busy scheduele and we did not have much time to film the video. During the first week, brian had high fever and yingxian was sick the second week. Guoyi had food poisoning the third week. Thus, we had to plan our timing to finish filming the video.

Throughout this video production, I have learnt to edit videos to make them more interesting such as adding sounds, texts, effects and increasing and decreasing the speed of the video. I had also learnt how to handle camera equipments. The difficulty that my group has encountered is to decide on a date to meet during the school holidays to shoot our video as some of us were busy with our CCA or going overseas. We also had difficulty finding the right location to shoot the video as our video had different locations and while acting, some of us would make errors. We also had problems with recording the voices.

We had faced many problems during the period when we are filming our video. Firstly, some of our teammates could not have time to film our video. Monday, we have higher mother tongue, then we had star programme on tuesday, wednesday, I had CCA and thursday, is the only time that we are free. Friday, everybody of our team had CCA so we are not able to film any of the video. Thursday is the only day we have but one of our groupmate had CCA. The whole week was book up. The video we are supposed to film has to be postponed.
ReplyDeleteFinally we have found a day that we would be able to film the video together. But then we could not find a suitable place for filming our video. We used the classroom. When the video was filmed, we encountered another problem, it is that there was too much of the wind howling sound in the video. We have forgotten to off the fans and it have resulted the video to be too noisy. Hence, we have to do the voiceover.
I have learnt that we sould be co-operative. If not the video that we ae trying to do would take up a very long time. I have learnt that the ulead video editing was very hard. It took us alot of time. Time management is also one of the keys towards the completion of our video. We must have a very good time management in order to succeed finish filming the video. After all, I still think that this video had required us to acknowledge many skills so we would be able to complete the video we are trying to make.

The things in the module was not new to me, but i did learn a few things.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, i've got a better idea on how to make Ulead work. Although i did learn how to use Ulead to do video editing in the past, but i did learn something new.
Secondly, planning before execution is always essential. There must always a "wet-weather" plan as things might crop up before or during the execution. My group members and i did not have time due to our Co-curricular Activities. Hence, the timing that we are supposed to film the video was postponed constantly.
Third, i've learn that body language in filming is essential. Being a bad actor, i hated doing things under the watch of a camera. Like a man shouting through a soundproof glass, the video must be able to let the viewers grasp the plot/storyline of it even without the sound.
Fourth, i've learnt that teamwork and co-operation is important in any project. My classmates had conflicts with their group members, but i'm glad that i did not have any major problems with my group mates. Hence we were able to shoot the video although it was behind schedule.
However, it was hard finding a venue initially. No one would allow each other to go to their houses to do the filming. When i allowed them to, YiHang had gastric pains and had to go home. After, Darren and Shaoyang went to play games and a day was wasted.
Fifth, concentration is always important in either filming or other things. Sometimes me and my group members would do things we are not supposed to do during filming like, looking at the camera or laughing.

I have learn't many things, gained a lot of knowledge and some experience as well. Through video production, filming was not as easy as i had expected. Little did i know that making films could be of a lot of hard work.
ReplyDeleteThough it took quite an amount of effort, i learn't about the many shots in video-taking. There are also different angles, zooming in and zooming out. Different shots can tell the viewer different things. Angles of how the camera is held allows the viewer to concentrate on certain body language the actors are trying to portray. Even the zooms have a part to play; they help to allow the viewers to focus on the actor's facial expressions.
Though many things were gained, i had also encountered numerous difficulties. Each member of the group had their own activities lined out for the week. It was hard to find a suitable date where there everyone had time to spare for this video production project. Day by day, our filming was delayed. Fortunately, we were able to find a suitable time slot, which was media literacy lessons. But most of the scenes were more or less done.
Another difficulty faced was the fact that there were a lot of 'NG's while filming. Being an actor was no easy chore at all.
Even though we met with some problems, we worked it out as a group.
After all, problems are meant to be solved.

Well, i have learnt that producing a video isn't as easy as i first thought. One of the difficulties that my group met, which i believe many groups also did, is that when we are filming, we kept on laughing and had to retake the whole scene. We were all very tired of retaking practically every scene and decided to hold our laughter until we had finished the scene and then laugh like mad after that.
ReplyDeleteAnother problem is that we could not find time to film the video. Luckily, we were able to film during media literacy lessons and also, we sacrificed one of our weekends.
After finishing this course, i think the most important lesson my group learnt was that being an actor is no easy chore.

Through this video production . I learnt how to use a video camera . Like learning its functions , editing the video and adding music to the video . We faced some problems as we sometimes cannot find a suitable time slot for filming . So we sometimes will talk it out for that problem . We will sometimes make some errors and do quite alot of NGs .

In the past few lesson handling the video camera, i have learn how to operate it. Editing was part of my job, it was fun but it became tiring after that.
ReplyDeleteThe last problem was that the video i edited was gone! I had to redo the whole video, i almost went 'berserk' but i manage my time and finish it. another problem was that my group members are somehow not happy with the video but i told them tat if they had the time to do, then they do but none of them did so we left it tat way. All the problems are resolved!

I had learnt how to differentiate between different types of focus and also how to use the tripod properly. Also I had learnt how to adapt to situations.AS the computer in our school does not have the RAM or enough processing or graphics potential to handle high definition videos. I took the videos in 576i instead of 1080i and converted it to a lower resolution file. The problems I had encountered are getting the whole group to work. Unfortunately I was not able to handle the whole group and fortunately Mr. Lam came to help and organized the group. Unfortunately only Mr. Lam is able to organize the whole group. The whole difficulty was resolved when I just tried to get the essential materials for the video from each group member and collaborate all of them together.

I have learnt more about editing using the ulead program as I usually use other programs. I have also learnt about the importance of team work, time management and most of all, choosing the right teammates. Our lives would be hell if they keep running off and leave you to do everything. We need time management as we have to focus on everything and cannot waste our time on unimportant stuff. We SHOULD also choose the right partner as SOME people use their time to slack while others simply fool around leaving us to do everything and having no time to do our journals.

i have learnt more about tehe new program that enables us to edit the video easily. the problems I encountered was finding time to film and time management. most of us ( our team) are very busy during the weekends thus we had to meet during weekdays but we had CCA's and other commitments thus it was hard to find time to film. This created another problem which was video quality as instead of four people doing a scene, two people are doing it thus it created complications. Another problem i encountered was time management. time management is very important as i have to learn how to balance my studies, my CCa's,my commitments and my projects thus it was very hard but we made it through by helping each other out.

Through this video, i learnt how to learn handle with the camera and the different equipment and most importance thing is the process of editing videos as it would be difficult for a viewer to watch a video with alot of errors and unclear scenes, u can also add extra 'ingredients' to attract viewers. The difficulty is the time management between members, most of us is unable to make time for the record the video.

During the making of this video , my group and i faced problems like shortage of time . This is because we did not plan when to meet and such so we could not do our videoing . There are times when something will crop up suddenly and my group will not be able to film but we solved this problem after some planning but we still did not manage to finish the video on time .
