i do not think that we should trust movies to represent true history.based on the movie 300,there are many things in it that is not true. 1)the real persian immortals have a long spear, wears a hat,a robe and also have a round shield, but in the movie 300,the persian immortals wears a mask, have two swords without ara shield. 2)the spartons did not wear very little in a battle in real life. They wore a helmet, breastplate and shin greaves. They also held a shield, sword and a spear. 3)thirdly,the real "god-king" xerxes did not look like anything in the movie. The Persian king wore a robe of honour that was a large piece of fabric that was draped around him in real life.their clothes were often decorated with golden clothing ornaments. the only hing in this movie that is real is that the war did happened.300 Spartans, 700 Thespians, 400 Thebans and maybe a few hundred others are left to guard the rear. so i conclude base on this movie that we should not trust movies to represent true history.i think that documentries are more trust-worthy than movies.
I do not think we should trust movies to represent true history. In movies, there are many things that are not really true. They tend to exxagerate abit and change some facts about it to make the movie more interesting.
Take the movie 300 for axample, the outward appearance of the characters are very different from the ones in history. In the movie, the 'God-King' Xerxes wore a robe of honour that was a large piece of fabric that was draped around him. For the king and other aristocracy, their clothes were decorated with golden clothing ornaments. The director made him to be like that as that was what he percepted of the people involved in that event. Actually, the characters in the movie do not really look the same as the real ones in history. Xerxes wanted to take over the world so he can't look too common. That's why the directors wanted to show that Xerxes had piercings to make him look tough and different.
In the movie, the immortals also look like Japenese ninjas, but actually the immortals had a long spear instead of twin blades and they did not wear a mask. They looked like old geezers that should be in hospitals, so the director gave "The Immortals" a new image because no one would like to see a movie where old people fight. And especially no one would believe that those old geezers are cruel heartless people that would pierce and kill people without shedding a tear and giving hesitation.
Therefore, I conclude base on this movie, that movies don't axactly represent history. Some changes are definitely made, thus it is nt really true.
I do not think we should trust movies to represent true history. Take the movie 300 as an example. All the characters in the movie are totally different from the history of this war. The God King in real history was not even the same from the movie. The appearance, the wearing and the overall are not even 1% same. The Spartans in the movie were only wearing a sort of swimming trunk, a cape and a spear during the war. However, in real history, they were wearing much more than that. Finally the Immortals; they were supposed to be old people dressed like priests, but the movie showed that they were like ninjas from Japan. In conclusion, I think moves that showed true history are not to be trusted.
I think sometimes we can trust and sometimes we shouldn’t. It really depends on your opinion. One example that we could not believe movie 300.another example that can be believe would be "money no enough”. But of course, you don't believe the whole thing. Some scenes may be a little exaggerate by the directors to make the film comical and enjoyable throughout watching if not people will be bored stiff. Movie 300 their characters isn’t the same as the history as they wore lesser to fight the war. How can it be possible to wear so less when fighting in the war? The reason is very simple. The director wants to show off the characters muscles .The immortal in the olden days wore like a priest and in the movie they looked like ninjas from Japan. In conclusion, whether to trust the movies is up to your opinion. Ong Yue Yu (15)
I personally think that we could not trust the movies to represent true history as they movie director change some parts of the history. Take for example, the movie 300. The characters dressed inside the movie were totally not the same as the people from the history. One of them is the Persian immortals. The real Persian immortals have a long spear, wears a hat, robe and also have a round shield, but the ones in the movie not only dressed like a Japanese ninjas with masked face but also carry twin blades without the shield. The real Persian "God-King" Xerxes also was not like the king in the movie where he had piercing all over his body and Spartan warriors did not wear leather swimming trunks with a cape, dagger and a spear but actually a helmet, breastplate and shin greaves. They also held a shield, sword and a spear like the ones in the movie. Also, Spartan King Leonidas did not lead only three hundred Spartans to the battle. He still had 700 Thespians, 400 Thebans and perhaps a few hundred others to help him in the battles. Thus, I say that through the movie show us the general idea if the history, we could not trust it totally as the movie directors had to exaggerate it to make it more interesting.
No, i don't think we should trust movies to represent true history. However, i do think that we could get an idea on the history that the movie represented. My personal opinion is that even some books on that particular incident/event/history cannot be trusted, as who knew what exactly happened say, like a few hundred years ago? No one would know except the people who experienced first hand, which is presently impossible to get information from the people who lived a few hundred years ago. Although they say that technology is advanced nowadays, and we could make dead people 'come alive', but we could not 100% believe what is re-enacted by historians. Lets take the movie, '300', as an example. When we compared things in the movie to the real thing, it was completely different. Only traces of the real thing can be found in the movie 300. It is hard to so-call copy the things like clothing, events and even people in the past as everything has its own unique characteristic.
Hardly or rather, never movies would exactly re-enact the real exact history, because obviously the director hoped that the movie would (sort of) sell well if it was twisted in a certain way rather than having to film/direct the exact history.
No, we cannot trust movies to represent true history. But we could only trust part of it as it is called history movie. For example, movie 300 was not exactly the same. The clothing were different as in the one in movie compared to the one in history. Only the event was real. The war was real as well as there was 300 Spartens. The director would normally change the clothes of the characters in history as the clothes are usually dull and boring. The director would want people to watch the show. So usually the director would let those characters wear exaggerating clothes and attractive clothes so the audience would prefer the show and it will be more memorable for the audience. Therefore, I would not believe movie that show true history as our research has shown. I would prefer to watch documentaries to movie that show true history as documentaries are usually more non-fictional.
No, we cannot trust movies to represent true history but we can still trust some part of it.
Take the movie 300 for example, the dressing of the people in the movie is not the same as the true history and some are even completely different from the truth. They will even add things like piercing to make the characters outstanding.
The director did this exaggerating part in the appearance to make the movie more interesting as the true appearance of the characters are normally dull and would not raise the viewer'sattention.
There were definitely changes made to the historical story to get a high rating for the movie.
In conclusion, I say that movies don't really represent histories.
No, we cannot trust movies to represent true history. But maybe parts of the idea of the movie was taken from the history, not all.
For example, the movie 300, the characters inside the movie can't be wearing the same clothings as the true history. Even if the history was recorded down, it wouldn't be so clear, so the clothings might only be ideas from the director. If the whole movie showed the true history, it might be too boring and cannot attract audience so the director altered the history to make it more interesting. He also added in exaggerating clothings or appearance to the characters to attract the audiences' attention.
Therefore, I would not believe that the movie showed true history.
I think we should not trust movies to represent true history. In movies, directors tend to exagerate abit and change some facts to make the movie more interesting. For example, in movie 300, the clothing the actors and actress wear in the movie were different from the one compared to the one in history. Lets take the persian immortals, the real persian immortals have a long spear, hat, robe and have a round shield, but the ones in the movie dressed like Japanese ninjas with masked face and carry twin blades without the shield. Directors added in exaggerating clothings or appearance to the characters to attract the audiences' attention. If the whole movie showed the true history, it might be too boring and cannot attract audience. That's why directors altered the history to make it more interesting.
No, we cannot trust the movies in representation of true history. The directors and editors often exaggerate the facts to be more interesting in order to attract viewers. Sometimes, twist facts or add contents to it, however a small portion is still true. Take for example the 300, the gist of the story is that 300 spartans fought the incredible number of persians and it is true. The changes was that real persian immortals have a spear, wears a hat and robe carrying a round shield. But in the movie, the immortal was dressed somewhat like a japanese ninja with their face masked, carrying twin blades but no shield. The reason for the changed fact is that if they followed the real history, it would boring and unattracting, With the exaggerated fact, the movie would be presented in a more interesting way and hence more attractive. Sylvia Gwee(17) 1-2
I don't think we should trust the movie plot too much. They can be true but there is only some that is true. The directors would tend to change the real facts and replace them with another. Sometimes it would cause contraditions in the plot. They might also cause some quarrels. For one example is that, in the "Fearless" movie that is starred by Jet Li. The plot is that the martial arts master's whole family is killed by other people after he had chopped off other guy's head. When Huo Yuan Jia's ( character that is starred by Jet Li) descendants knew that, they had immediately lodged a complaint about that. Some directors would make a mountain out of a molehill. They might exaggerate the plot making it to be attractive. But they might cause some inconviences.
I think we cannot trust this movies. The directors are only over the money and they have not much idee of what is the real history of the story. They would just try to make it intresting by adding more action and for the movies fame and money. They like to exaggerate to make it more interesting or so that more people would be intrested in the show. In the movie 300, there were not only spartans to fight the war. Thus we can conclude that we cannot trust movies based on history.
I think we cannot trust movies because the movie has been added with those scenes which people want to watch more because they think that showing real history make people feel boring. The directors only want to earn money so they do not care real fact. Chia Chun Yee (25) 1-2
I don't think that we should trust movies to represent true history. The movies which talks about the past would have some changes made to it because not all the directors are willing to follow how the history story goes. They want to have some changes here and there to show that are not copycats and that they have their own style. Most people might not want to pay to watch a show about boring history they would rather watch it on the television. In the movie 300,even "God-King" Xerxes look very different in the show and on the carvings. They have not much similarities.I think that the director did not want any old man to act in this fightning, full of violence show. teohuiyuh(18)1-2
I think that we should not trust movies to depict history. For example, in the movie 300, the Spartans wore very little. While in real life, they actually wore and held much more than that. (Example, helmet, more protective gear and battle weapons as well.) In the movie, the immortals; were dressed like ninjas, like those from Japan. In history, they were supposed to be people dressed in something like priests Thus, I conclude that we should not trust movies like the 300 to depict history. We should always remember that “Things are not always what they seem to be.”
I do not think we should trust movies to get historical information. For example,in the movie 300,the persian immortals only wore a mask and held two swords, but in actual fact, they held a long spear, wore a hat,a robe and also a round shield.Their clothings had already been wrong. The director must have changed it so that it would attract us to the characters. However, this would give those people who wanted to learn more about the battle some wrong concept. They might also sue the company. However, some of the parts of the movie. For example, the battle did occurred, and there are also Persian immortals and Spartans.Hence,it also shows some parts of the movie is true.
No,I do not think that we should trust movies to represent true history because only some parts of the movies are true, but not the whole movie. The director has change the clothings that the character has in the true history so as to attract people to watch the movies and they can earn money. For example the movie 300 , the clothings that the actors wear were different from the one compared to the one in the history. If the movie showed true histroy, the audience will be bored to tears. The director just has a mind full of money,so they do not cared for the actual facts. The clothings that the actors do not have much similarities than the ones in the history.Hence,I conclude that we should not trust movies to represent history.
No, i do not think we should trust movies to represent true history as majority of the facts in the movies are false. The directors of the movies would change the clothings and some scene to make it more interesting to attract people to watch it. The movie 300 is an example, the clothings of the Spartans and the fact that the Spartan king is not the last to die in the war are changed. In fact, they do not have much similarities thus, i can conclude that we should trust movies to represent the true history.
I do not think we should trust movies to get historical information. To earn money,Directors would change almost everything about the history and add in scenes that everyone loves to watch. For example the movie 300,the Spartans wore very little. While in real life, they actually wore and held much more than that. The made them wear little to show the muscles of the actor and attract them. Thus, I can conclude that we should not trust movies to represent the true history
I do not think we can trust movies to represent true history as for money and in order to make the film exciting, directors would do anything. For example, they may change some scenes in movies and add some or delete some, basically changing minor details of the movie and even entirely warping the movie. For example, in the movie '300', the directors made the people acting as soldiers wear very little so that their muscles could be seen, when in fact, the actual spartans covered most of their body when going to fight. This fact has led me to believe that movies should not be trusted for historical information.
no we cannot trust movies to represent History. movie directors usually elaborate to attract more revenue,as shown in the movie "300"The director actually changed the clothing of the immortals to a more attractive ninja costume. if we want actual represntation of history,We should instead watch a documentary. The movie director will change some things in the actual history and add in other special effects, daredevil scenes to make the movie more exciting. If history was as interesting and exciting to watch as this, there would be no need for movies
No, we cannot trust movies to represent history. Movies usually exaggerate true stories to make it more interesting to watch and generate more revenue. Firstly, the Spartans did not actually fight on their own, but fought along with the other eople of Greece. Secondly, the people in the movie wore very little but in actual fact, they carried and wore much more that that. If realistic recounts were made, the show would not have been so attractive and thus was the need to exaggerate the recounts and warp the perception of history entirely.
No, we can't. movies are only for entertainment and not to represent history. movies usually exaggerate the main points of the story to make it interesting. the director or writers would not choose a story that is mundane but a story about someone outstanding or important. through reseach, we have found out that the Spartans did not only fight the Persians with 300 people but along with other people of Greece. so, we should not trust movies to represent history because the complete story or life of the person is usually changed for the sake of entertianment for us.
I think we cannot trust movies to represent true history.Based on the movie '300',there are things in the movie were not real. For example, the clothing of the characters.Their clothings were very different from the real historical people. The director might have changed their clothing so that it will attract more people to watch the movie and so that they can earn more money. Therefore,we cannot trust movies to reprresent true history.
No, I do not think that we can trust movies that represent true history because sometimes, the movie creators or directors might mess up their facts about true history and end up presenting the history that is not very exact and the viewers might not be able to differentiate between the true history and the false history that the movie presented. This will result in people not knowing their own history and culture well and there might be some communication problems.
No, i really do not think that we can trust movies to depict what actually happened. These movies are just for entertainment. While some facts are true, most of which are totally fake. When this happens, people who unlike us have not researched on the movies will accept the facts from the movie. If these directors want to create movies and or artificialize it, just do not use any real facts at all. ilham 1-2 28
No, I do not think we should trust movies to represent true history because sometimes, it may not be true. For example, the movie '300'. In the movie, it shows that the Spartans wore so little when in real life, they actually wore more than what was in the movie. I think that the director changed it so he can attract more people to watch the movie. However, when people watch this movie, they may get the wrong idea and not know the real story. Thus, it shows that we should not trust movies to represent history because it may be fake.
I do not think we should trust movies to represent true history. In movies, there are many things that are not really true. They tend to exxagerate abit to make the boring history facts seem very interesting and cool. If realistic historical accounts were made into a movie, it will be more of a documentary then a movie.
I think that we should not trust movies to represent true history. In many movies, most of the things are not real as directors tend to exaggerate in order to make history facts more interesting. Also, they exaggerate to attract people to watch the movie as many people nowsaday find learning or even listening to history facts very boring so they will not watch the movie and thus causing it to become a failure. Many directors do this to allow themselves to earn more money therefore, we should trust movies to represent true history.
No, I do not think we can trust the movies that represent true history. In the movies, they may try to cut out the parts that are not attractive and does not capture the viewer's attention. They will add more scenes that are really captivating just to attract the viewer's attention. They may also get their sources from an unreliable site and give the wrong information to the viewers. If they make movies that represent true history, they might not be able to make it into a real movie and it would be a documentary or a drama series.
Movies cannot represent history as directors only know about pleasing people by exaggerating facts to fit popular fiction. They do not give a damn about history and if they do, it is only because the story is interesting and people would want to hear about it. They add special effects to make the characters look like comic book heroes and they also change some details. For example, they gave the Persian immortals weapons and armoury that causes them to look like ninjas. In contrary, they dressed differently and the directors also portray them as ninjas as Japanese culture is very popular these days and they could profit from this. Liew Yi Hang 31
we cannot trust movies to represent true history as directors and script writers tend to exaggerate when making a movie . They will edit the real history and add craps to it . They just want to make money out of the movies so they will not care about the true history . They would just do according to what they think is right and what the audience likes. Movies are usually a different thing from what truly happened in history . For example, people who were war heros might be turned into cowards in the movie . In this way , the audience might get the wrong image of that person and might mess up the true history .
i do not think that we should trust movies to represent true history.based on the movie 300,there are many things in it that is not true.

No, We cannot trust the information in movies. most of the information are not real at all and most of the information are only ideas of the director.

ReplyDeleteI do not think we can trust movies to represent true history as for money and in order to make the film exciting, directors would do anything.

ReplyDeletemovie directors usually elaborate to attract more revenue,as shown in the movie "300"The director actually changed the clothing of the immortals to a more attractive ninja costume.
if we want actual represntation of history,We should instead watch a documentary. The movie director will change some things in the actual history and add in other special effects, daredevil scenes to make the movie more exciting. If history was as interesting and exciting to watch as this, there would be no need for movies

No, we cannot trust movies to represent history.
ReplyDeleteMovies usually exaggerate true stories to make it more interesting to watch and generate more revenue.

ReplyDeletemovies are only for entertainment and not to represent history. movies usually exaggerate the main points of the story to make it interesting.
the director or writers would not choose a story that is mundane but a story about someone outstanding or important.
through reseach, we have found out that the Spartans did not only fight the Persians with 300 people but along with other people of Greece.
so, we should not trust movies to represent history because the complete story or life of the person is usually changed for the sake of entertianment for us.

ReplyDeleteNo, i really do not think that we can trust movies to depict what actually happened. These movies are just for entertainment. While some facts are true, most of which are totally fake. When this happens, people who unlike us have not researched on the movies will accept the facts from the movie. If these directors want to create movies and or artificialize it, just do not use any real facts at all.

ReplyDeleteI think that we should not trust movies to represent true history.

In contrary, they dressed differently and the directors also portray them as ninjas as Japanese culture is very popular these days and they could profit from this.

we cannot trust movies to represent true history as directors and script writers tend to exaggerate when making a movie .
